Metallica frontman James Hetfield is rather proud his band’s music was played at top volume to break down the resistance of Guantanamo detainees under interrogation.
“It’s strong, it’s music that’s powerful,” he told an interviewer from a German TV network. “It represents something that they don’t like—maybe freedom, aggression—I don’t know. Freedom of speech.”
But he added that he was also “kind of bummed about it” because of his belief that politics and music don’t mix. Several American musicians opposed to the use of their music on Gitmo prisoners recently joined a call demanding that the federal government release documents on the practice.

almanya duisburg'da yapılan tekno festivali love parade'de 19 kişi izdiham sonucu öldü. 300 kişi de yaralandı. olay korkunç. festivale giriş sadece bir tünelden yapılıyormuş, tünel de daracık. anladığım kadarıyla bi panik başlıyor ve insanlar birbirlerini eziyorlar. çok korkunç fotoğraflar ve hikayeler var internette. resmen felaket filmi gibi. önce tünel çöktü sandım ben ama herhangi bi şey yok. sadece panik.

içerideki panik arttıkça sıcaklık da artmış. insanlar bayılmaya başlamış. bazıları tünel içindeki merdivenlerden kaçmaya çalışmışlar ama merdivenlerin üzerine çıkınca o merdivenler onları kaldırmayıp insanlar kalabalığın üzerine düşmeye başlamış. ya da ben böyle anladım. türkçe kaynaklarda geçiştirmişler hep "izdiham" diye, neden çıktığı hiç yazılmamış.
müzik festivallerinde böyle şeylerin yaşanması çok üzücü. kâr amacı güdüp insan hayatını önemsemeyen organizatörlerin olması çok acı. bi de festivalin adı love parade. yazık valla.

The legendary Deep Purple/Rainbow guitarist and his wife, Blackmore’s Night singer Candice Night, have a daughter. They’ve named her Autumn Esmerelda – which will surprise nobody.
She’s said to be the inspiration for the new Blackmore’s Night album, Autumn Sky, due out later in the year. |

25 yıllık tarihlerinde ABD'deki ilk konserlerini 8 Ağustos 2010'da Lollapalooza festivalinde verecekler.

Another treat from the Suicidal Records stable, "No Mercy Fool!/The Suicidal Family", features re-recorded tracks from SUICIDAL TENDENCIES' second album, "Join The Army", as well as tunes from the second full-length from NO MERCY, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES' guitarist Mike Clark's speed metal band (which found SUICIDAL TENDENCIES vocalist Mike Muir on vocals) from 1986.
Since its beginnings in Venice, California in the early '80s, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES has led the charge in the skate punk/thrash metal movement, consequently influencing an entire generation of bands along the way. Now, over two decades later, the time is right to unleash these lost gems, re-recorded and released for fans old and new to enjoy for the very first time. Also included is a new version of the classic SUICIDAL TENDENCIES track "Possessed To Skate". A video for the song is also in the works.
"No Mercy Fool!/The Suicidal Family" will be released via Suicidal Records on September 7.

1991's original American "Clash Of The Titans" lineup — ANTHRAX, SLAYER and MEGADETH — will hit the road together once again on leg two of the "American Carnage" tour. This trek kicks off September 24 at Verizon Wireless Theatre in Dallas, Texas and will play 20 dates, including New York's Nassau Coliseum, concluding at Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on October 21.
ANTHRAX, SLAYER and MEGADETH and will kick off the second leg of the "American Carnage" tour on the heels of the historic "Big Four" 'Sonisphere' festival concerts they played with METALLICA in seven European cities this summer. The dates marked the first time that these four bands — acknowledged as the most influential bands of the thrash genre — had shared a concert bill. |

Behemoth frontmani Nergal dün hastaneye kaldırılmış. Hastalığından ötürü 2010 yılındaki tüm konserlerini iptal etmişler. Uzun bir tedavi süreci geçirmesi bekleniyormuş.
